According to Nikkei, Japan is set to get a new, larger version of the Nintendo DSi later this year. The new DSi will be the same price, and at 4 inches, will have a screen 3/4 ” wider than the current model. Apparently they’re making this for the “older generation”, the consumer base of such items as the jumbo remote control and large print crossword puzzles. A release of this version elsewhere is said to still be in discussion, but I’m sure its coming. As this new DSi shows, they won’t sto

As we approach the colder months of the year here at Joystiq HQ, we like to fool ourselves by picking up the latest Wiinovations in the world of game-based exercise equipment, knowing wholeheartedly that they’ll never end up getting much use. A portion of the Guardian review of Wii Fit Plus: “Newcomers will have to splash out for the balance board as well and cost does then become an issue. But if you already own Wii Fit and actually use it more than once a month then Plus is a must buy. The additions are worth the relatively cheap price of the disc.”

Would be amazing if I could say that I’ll be at E3 this year showing off World 3 or something cool like that, but alas, I’m just on the consumer side of the news barrage once again. Anyways, looks like most of the 3rd party info has been spilling out over the last few days, especially for 3rd party Wii games, since no news is going to stand a chance amidst whatever Nintendo finally decides to unveil.
